Welcome!

Welcome to Tardis Point News. This blog is no longer running, as I started watching Parks and Recreation and am still mourning over the cancellation of Eureka. Don't stop watching Doctor Who though, which is and always will be the best TV show ever.

Episode 15: New Age in Monsters

From an article in the Daily Mirror, Planet of the Dead's new monster was said to be the Tritovore!

You can read the article it below

"New Tritovore baddies set to be scariest ever. He's dealt with some tough baddies but Doctor Who will face his scariest yet - a half man, half fly creature. Called the Tritovore, it will be unleashed in the Easter Special to do battle with the Time Lord and sidekick Lady Christina de Souza - played by former EastEnders star Michelle Ryan. Bosses want the monster to become as iconic as the Daleks or Cybermen. A set source said: "Scriptwriters are confident they'll make a huge impact... everyone remembers the Daleks and the Cybermen, but not alot else if they're honest. The Tritovore will change that. They are disgusting and will last long in the memory." Series boss Russell T Davies is hoping to use the creatures in three other special shows. David Tennant quits as the Doctor this year. The source added: "Russell is telling everybody to expect some real surprises. He wants him to go out with a bang."

Also, this could well be true as it matches the description of the monster Russell T Davies wrote in Doctor Who Magazine Issue 404's Production Notes.

Torchwood Delayed

Series 3 of Torchwood will be delayed until summer due to the fact that BBC America are broadcasting the series the same time as us. Children of Earth will have 5 1 hour episodes all in one week and apparently is the most ambitious story they've ever done. But before that, there will still be Planet of the Dead for Easter.

As the Doctor investigates, he becomes more and more worried. Why is shopkeeper Mr Pemberton acting so strangely? And what is Professor Wilberforce's terrible secret?

The Krillitane Storm:

Written by Christopher Cooper

When the TARDIS materialises in medieval Worcester, the Doctor finds the city seemingly deserted. He soon discovers its population are living in a state of terror, afraid to leave their homes after dark, for fear of meeting their doom at the hands of the legendary Devil's Huntsman.
For months, people have been disappearing, and the Sheriff has imposed a strict curfew across the city, his militia maintaining control over the superstitious populace with a firm hand, closing the city to outsiders. Is it fear of attack from beyond the city walls that drives him or the threat closer to home? Or does the Sheriff have something to hide?
After a terrifying encounter with a deadly Krillitane, the Doctor realises the city has good reason to be scared.

2009 and some other stuff

Well, it's now 2009, and it has been for.. approximately 19 hours, 12 minutes and 33 seconds while I'm typing this. Hasn't it been quick? Did you stay up yesterday to watch the ball drop (I don't know what that means, but I think it's some American new year thing..)? Did you put up the new calendars? Why am I asking you all these questions?

Now it's 2009, Planet of the Dead doesn't seem too long away, then the next special, and the next, and the next, even if they are. And soon again, I will be copying this post and changing some dates for next years "2010 and some other stuff" post!

Soon, this site will have a Videos section with all the trailers and randomly interesting stuff from series 1-4, also I'll update the galleries and maybe the episode guides. If you haven't noticed, I'm currently adding air dates and amount of viewers to them (I only have Doctor Who series 1 & 4 done so far, it's nothing exiting, but you can check them out here. Seriously, it's actually quite boring). I hope by 2010 (if the site lasts that long), i will have at least 3 more sections for Whoviavortex. And I have a new banner.

Next thing, and possibly the last, I have an Easter Egg planted in this site! The prize is horrible but it's still fun. There are 4 prizes but they're all at the same place. Almost. Check the bottom of the main page first and I've just realized I've become alot less formal in these posts.

Maybe that wasn't the last thing but this is. Now I'm just trying to find something to say for that previous joke to work.. even though it's not really funny. OK then, news! That's what I'll do here. As previously reported.. oh, when did I go all formal again, anyway, as previously reported, there will be a new Doctor Who Confidential on Saturday called "The Ten Doctors" on BBC1 at 5:35pm to 6:10pm. It is produced by Zoe Rushton and narrated by Simon Pegg.

A look back at the ten previous incarnations of the Time Lord, their companions, most heroic moments and adventures, the monsters they have battled, as well as the particular traits which have defined each one of them
